Product Pitches

The following market opportunities were presented in class in 2007 as potential class projects:

  1. Scott: The goal of this project is to develop an online application system. The focus of this system will be account/client associativity and availability of numorous unique application types.
  2. Shane: A need exists for a robust easy to implement product that will be able to correlate presence of people with the space that they are occupying without invading their privacy.
  3. Zach: Create a product that contains the capability to measure the amount of liquid in a container while making inventory management seamless.
  4. Mitch: An inexpensive cordless penetrating 3D localization system for computer assisted surgery applications.
  5. Johnny: Since the cell phone is already a well established device and readily available, a logical step is to augment it with personal medical history information and/or implementing it as a credit card.
  6. Ed: Create a publicly available and easy to navigate information source that aggregates local knowledge.
  7. Adam: Develop a mattress cover that will detect core body temperature of an individual laying in bed. This reading is actively analyzed and adjustments are performed to sustain body temperature at a predetermined level.
In addition to the above opportunity statements, the following ideas were presented as project options:
  1. Wireless desktop/bedside data bug (weather, stocks, etc.)
